Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Join Pride Health as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at San Juan Capistrano, CA! This is a 5-years contract role offering a great opportunity for experience to excel in a dynamic environment.

Role: Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Location: 33608 Ortega Hwy, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675

Shift Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Hours per Week: 40 hours

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Highlights: $45-50/hour (Based on years of experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform moderate to highly complex clinical tests independently, following required policies and procedures.
• Prepare and oversee preparation of reagents, stock solutions, standards, and controls; evaluate new reagents and materials.
• Assess specimen acceptability prior to testing according to established criteria.
• Perform calculations manually or through computerized systems to determine accurate results.
• Accurately enter, review, and release test results while adhering to turnaround times.
• Recognize critical values or unexpected results and take appropriate documented action.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Evaluate instrument performance, linearity, accuracy, and precision checks as required.
• Perform and interpret Quality Control and calibration procedures; initiate corrective actions when systems deviate from standards.
• Accurately conduct and record proficiency testing.
• Train and provide direct supervision to unlicensed staff as required.
• Maintain proper tracking, labeling, and inventory of reagents and supplies.
• Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives and staff meetings.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and environmental guidelines.
• Provide exceptional communication and collaboration with staff, supervisors, and external partners.
• Maintain professional growth through continuing education as required for California licensure.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: BS in Medical Technology or life/physical sciences from an accredited college or university.

Licensure: Current California CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) license required .

Experience: 0–3 years direct laboratory experience

Note: Local candidates and travelers both are eligible

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credit.
