Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

  • Provide safe and competent perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room and Recovery Room.
  • Perform scrubbing and circulating duties as assigned in accordance with perioperative standards.
  • Assist the surgical and anaesthesia teams during routine and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and in the immediate post-operative phase.
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient assessment and care.
  • Ensure completion of perioperative documentation accurately and within the required timelines.
  • Follow surgical safety processes, including sign-in, time-out, and sign-out procedures.Ensure correct handling, labelling, and dispatch of surgical specimens.
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and Operating Room protocols.
  • Operate and handle surgical equipment safely and report any malfunction or troubleshooting requirements.
  • Support patients requiring invasive monitoring and provide appropriate observation and documentation.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient flow and continuity of care.
  • Participate in fire-risk assessments and other departmental safety initiatives.
  • Provide care to ventilated, infectious, or high-dependency patients as clinically required.

Requirements:

You should have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Valid nursing license/registration.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of Operating Room or Recovery Room experience preferred.
  • Certification in BLS mandatory; ACLS preferred.
  • Knowledge of perioperative patient safety and infection control practices.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.
