POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Nutrition Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for clinical nutrition services across all communities. This role ensures regulatory compliance, clinical nutrition standards, and consistent execution of weight monitoring and nutrition intervention processes. The Clinical Nutrition Coordinator serves as the clinical nutrition authority while supervising Registered Dieticians (RDs) and Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTRs).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Clinical Nutrition Oversight

• Establish and maintain clinical nutrition standards, policies, and workflows.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulatory requirements related to nutrition services.
• Serve as a clinical resource for complex nutrition cases and regulatory inquiries.

Weight Monitoring and Meetings

• Own and oversee the organization’s weight monitoring and weight meeting process.
• Ensure RDs and DTRs attend scheduled weight meetings at assigned communities.
• Monitor weight trends across communities and identify high-risk patterns.
• Provide guidance on interventions, follow up expectations, and escalation.

Leadership and Supervision

• Directly supervise RDs, and DTRs, ensuring accountability and consistency in practice.
• Provide coaching, education, and performance feedback to clinical nutrition staff.
• Support onboarding and ongoing competency development.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Partner with nursing operations, and culinary leadership to support resident nutrition outcomes.
• Ensure timely communication of nutrition risks, interventions, and follow-up actions.
• Support Administrators and community teams with clinical nutrition guidance.

Quality and Survey Readiness

• Support survey preparation and response related to nutrition and weight management.
• Conduct audits and reviews to ensure documentation of accuracy and compliance.
• Identify opportunities for quality improvement and staff education.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of Registered Dieticians (RDs)
• Direct supervision of Dietetic technicians, Registered (DTRs)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field required
• Registered Dietician credential preferred: licensure as required by state regulations.

Experience

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in clinical nutrition, healthcare, or senior living.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and survey processes is strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and influence within interdisciplinary teams.
• Attention to detail with strong documentation and follow-up skills.
