Clinical or Teaching Professor (Any Rank) & Program Director, Master of Arts in Couples in Family Therapy (MACFT)

The Department of Psychology at Seattle University invites applicants for a three-year Clinical- or Teaching-track appointment, potentially renewable. Rank will be determined in consideration of experience. The individual will serve as the Program Director of the Master of Arts in Couples and Family Therapy (MACFT). This is a 12-month term faculty position (9-month faculty position with required administrative duties throughout the entire year). Successful applicants will have a demonstrated record of high-quality teaching, scholarship, and service. Appointment may begin July 1, 2026 and no later than September 1, 2026.

The MACFT program has a strong commitment to social justice and training compassionate and ethical couples and family therapists. The program currently has 77 total students enrolled in a two-year, in person model of training. The program is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).

In addition to teaching in the program, the program director administers and is responsible for the overall operation of the MACFT program, including development, management, and assessment of the curriculum and related resources; training and supervision of faculty; and ensuring compliance with COAMFTE standards. They will work collaboratively with the program’s clinical coordinator, program coordinator, and administrative assistant. They will interface with the Department of Psychology, College of Arts and Sciences, and Seattle University’s admissions and marketing teams. As a faculty member, the Director will teach MACFT courses, mentor and advise students, and is expected to provide appropriate service to the Department, College, and University.

Compensation at a Glance:

Salary Range: $78,000 - $82,000 base salary depending on rank and experience at hire, plus an annual administrative stipend of $7,000.
