Clinical Pathologist Laboratory

Job Description

• Work alongside biomedical chemist while they complete laboratory tests
• Educate colleagues in the use and limitations of each diagnostic investigation
• Provide advice and interpretation of test results and the appropriateness of further investigations
• Deliver clinical care to patients (as a histopathologist, patient contact is limited unless you're undertaking a specific role such as taking fine-needle aspiration cytology specimens in breast clinics)
• Undertake managerial responsibilities, such as planning the workload and staffing of the department, especially at more senior levels
• Performing specimen analysis by using laboratory tools and equipment, in order to study samples and perform tests to accurately analyze bodily fluids and tissue specimens.
• Looking for abnormalities in samples that evidence disease and conveying this information to the relevant medical practitioner.
• Suggesting potential treatment options & Writing pathology reports detailing specimens tested, results of tests, and the final diagnosis.
• Undertaking research to improve identification and testing methods and finding innovative ways to treat disease.
• Preparation of personalized written reports of laboratory results for clients in the area of biochemistry, hematology, endocrinology, and microbiology.
• Assisting with the development and validation of new assays offered to clients & Participation in the laboratory Quality Assurance programs.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery
• Experience (4-5 years), Experience in Medical Laboratory
• Master Degree in Clinical Pathology or registered
