- Inform doctors on new molecule
- Advise the pharmacy and clinicians on drug recall
- Monitoring of prescription for any drug
- Drug interactions or drug
- food interactions and correction of the same by consultation with the doctor.
- Conducts periodic audits on medication reconciliation
- Looks for and report adverse reactions
- Helps to introduce and maintain CPOE in a phased manner consistent with the policies of the hospital
- To audit the presence of therapeutic duplication.
- To Update the hospital formulary
- Coordinate Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee meetings
- Monitor and provide supervision to the staff including student trainees.
- Participate in educational and research programs.
- Interact with the specialist and prescribing clinicians to discuss on pharmaco-therapeutics.
- Discuss with clinician/health professional to provide better patient care.
- Coordinate Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee meetings

- Audit of medication orders/prescription is carried out to check for safe and rational prescription of medications.
- To audit the appropriateness of the drug, dose, frequency and route of administration.

- To audit the possibility of drug interaction and measures taken to avoid the same.
- To audit the possibility of food-drug interaction and measures taken to avoid the same.
