Hospital Pharmacist

India

Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescribed medicines accurately and efficiently to inpatients and outpatients.
  • Review prescriptions for errors, interactions, and proper dosage before dispensing.
  • Counsel patients and caregivers on correct medication use, dosage, and possible side effects.
  • Maintain adequate stock of medicines, consumables, and controlled drugs as per hospital norms.
  • Follow FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) and ensure proper batch tracking and storage conditions.
  • Coordinate with the purchase department for timely replenishment of drugs and consumables.
  • Maintain accurate records of narcotics, billing, and daily issue registers.
  • Support doctors and nurses with information on drug availability, substitutions, and interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital and NABH standards related to pharmacy operations.
  • Participate in audits, inventory checks, and periodic stock verifications.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety and infection control guidelines.
  • Report medication errors, near misses, and adverse drug reactions promptly.

Requirements:

  • B.Pharm / D.Pharm with valid registration from the State Pharmacy Council.
  • Minimum 6 months –3 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospital formulary, medical terminology, and computer-based billing systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹14,343.92 - ₹20,300.96 per month
