Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescribed medicines accurately and efficiently to inpatients and outpatients.
- Review prescriptions for errors, interactions, and proper dosage before dispensing.
- Counsel patients and caregivers on correct medication use, dosage, and possible side effects.
- Maintain adequate stock of medicines, consumables, and controlled drugs as per hospital norms.
- Follow FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) and ensure proper batch tracking and storage conditions.
- Coordinate with the purchase department for timely replenishment of drugs and consumables.
- Maintain accurate records of narcotics, billing, and daily issue registers.
- Support doctors and nurses with information on drug availability, substitutions, and interactions.
- Ensure compliance with hospital and NABH standards related to pharmacy operations.
- Participate in audits, inventory checks, and periodic stock verifications.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety and infection control guidelines.
- Report medication errors, near misses, and adverse drug reactions promptly.
Requirements:
- B.Pharm / D.Pharm with valid registration from the State Pharmacy Council.
- Minimum 6 months –3 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital formulary, medical terminology, and computer-based billing systems.
