Pay Range: $68.59 - $108.03 per hour

Summary:
The Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Manager leads comprehensive pharmaceutical care across the Oncology Service Line. This visionary leadership role encompasses personnel management, clinical operations, regulatory compliance, and patient care optimization. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical services while advancing the RUSH mission, vision, and values through innovative practice transformation.

Required Job Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
  • PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residency training (or equivalent experience)
  • Current Illinois pharmacy licensure (or eligible within 6 months)
  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) certification.
  • Minimum 6 years of pharmacy practice experience
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel supervision and learner precepting.
  • Proven track record in pharmacy service development.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as Clinical Coordinator or Residency Program Director
  • Leadership experience with multiprofessional committees or workgroups
  • Advanced degrees or additional certifications in oncology or healthcare management

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Travel requirements up to 10% of work time.
Working Conditions:
This position operates in a hospital environment with exposure to various clinical settings within the oncology service line. The role requires flexibility to respond to urgent clinical situations and participate in evening or weekend activities as needed.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage clinical pharmacy oncology services across the cancer service line.
  • Maintain active participation in clinical practice.
  • Provide oversight of clinical pharmacy operations.
  • Foster interdisciplinary relationships to ensure safe, efficacious and cost-effective medication management.
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives focused on medication use and safety to achieve patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate leadership and ownership of accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with informatics teams to optimize clinical workflows and the adoption and integration of technology.
  • Lead continuous transformation of pharmacy practice and information systems.
  • Conduct outcomes research to document drug therapy quality and pharmacy service impact.
  • Support facility improvements and practice innovations.
  • Provide leadership and supervision for clinical pharmacy specialists heme/onc, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and learners within the oncology service line.
  • Support onboarding, training, and competency development for new staff.
  • Serve as mentor and preceptor for pharmacy personnel, residents, and students.
  • Facilitate individual professional development plans for team members.
  • Support residency and experiential education programs.
  • Assist leadership team with annual evaluation and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Participate in management leadership meetings and organizational committees.
  • Serve on the System Oncology Subcommittee of the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
  • Engage with national professional organizations in oncology pharmacy.
  • Lead special projects aligned with departmental and organizational priorities.
