The Clinical Placement Coordinator will coordinate prelicensure clinical placement at sites intended to enhance student learning objectives, placement of students into clinical sites based on their learning needs and maintaining responsibility for all activities required to ensure that the College is in compliance with all clinical activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Work with Asst Dean of Undergraduate programs, and course coordinators on a proactive basis to assess future college needs and develop long term plan around clinical site needs. Provide cross-coverage for APN placements when needed.
2. Secure and maintain relationships with clinical liaisons for purposes of placement at clinical sites.
3. Confirm and schedule clinical faculty for prelicensure clinical programs. Communicate with clinical agencies to ensure rosters and required clinical site paperwork are completed for all clinical faculty.
4. Coordinate clinical placements for all prelicensure students each semester and provide cross-coverage for APN placements when needed.
5. Facilitate student onboarding requirements for various clinical sites. Ensure students are compliant with clinical agency requirements. Ensure student background information is completed timely.
6. Establish and maintain relationships with representatives of the agencies in which students are placed to maintain a variety of clinical practice sites for students. Handle questions and concerns from partner agencies to ensure successful relationships.
7. Collaborate with College of Nursing Student Services team regarding student progression and clinical needs.
8. Coordinate and maintain affiliation agreements between clinical sites and the College.
9. Develop, update and maintain databases of student assignments, clinical sites, site requirements and site evaluations to allow for better planning.
10. Maintain connections and continue ongoing discussions with Scholar programs and academic partners.
11. Participate in Southeast Wisconsin Nursing Association (SEWNA) meetings to collaborate with schools and healthcare organization on student requirements for clinical placement and address challenges of clinical placement requirements in the region
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of one-year applicable experience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage details through multiple initiatives.
Ability to effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external individuals.
Strong interest in providing a positive student learning experience.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Master’s degree preferred.
1-3 years experience with data entry, communications with constituencies, organizational skills and projects, and coaching others in the use of technology.
