Job Description Summary:
The Clinical Research Assistant in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Physical Activity & Weight Management, will contribute to research focused on nutrition and dietary interventions to advance studies on obesity treatment and related chronic health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and kidney disease. This position may grow as warranted with opportunities to build and enhance skills, duties, and responsibilities.
Job Description:Job Duties:-
Serve as an exercise specialist to deliver intervention sessions related to exercise and physical activity according to research study protocols.

Assist with conducting outcome testing that may include vital signs, anthropometric measurements and body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, strength, physical function, and others.

Schedule participants for research intervention sessions.

Assist with behavioral approaches to modifying physical activity and other health-related behaviors.

Assist with recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities of participants.

Maintain accurate and detailed participant records through timely documentation and data entry, in compliance with university policies and applicable standards.

Complete required research trainings and maintain compliance with institutional retraining policies.

Adhere to all research protocols and comply with ethical guidelines and institutional regulations.

Required QualificationsWork Experience: Two (2) years' work experience in exercise and physical activity. Relevant education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred QualificationsCertifications/Licenses:-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Professional certification related to exercise or physical activity through an accredited entity.
Work Experience:-
Experience working in a clinical or research setting.

Experience supervising participants with exercise training in both one-on-one and group settings.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
