About the Clinic for Special Children:
Since 1989, the Clinic for Special Children has served as a comprehensive medical clinic for children and adults with rare, genetic disorders. The majority of patients are uninsured, live in agrarian settings, and are of Old Order Amish or Mennonite (Plain) ancestry. While the Clinic often sees certain rare genetic conditions at a higher rate within this community, the research has broad relevance for the field of genetics as a whole.


Position Summary:
The Research Associate assists in various aspects of current research projects in collaboration with the clinical and laboratory teams. They are responsible for executing research protocols through activities such as generating data, accurately recording results, and analyzing data with the research team. They have a significant role in communicating with families engaged in research, planning family education days, and working with the Research Director and Marketing and Communications Manager in generating written materials. This position also coordinates with external research collaborators to accomplish research aims.


Minimum Requirements to apply:

  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences or related field.
