Clinical Research Coordinator I

The Massachusetts General Hospital's Center for Vascular Emergencies (CVE) is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist with ongoing and future clinical research studies in the Department of Emergency Medicine. The CVE was created to improve the care of patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) through multidisciplinary research, clinical innovation, and education. The incumbent will be a highly integrated team member interfacing with Investigators, Fellows, Residents, research interns, and departmental research staff on a regular basis.

Some overnight or weekend coverage shifts may be required based on study protocols.

This position is well-suited for those interested in graduate studies or a career in medicine, public health, or clinical research, offering significant patient interaction as part of a clinical research team.

Job Summary

Summary
Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a six-month grace period from their hire date to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions
  • Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verifies that all sponsor requirements are met.
  • Recruiting patients for clinical trials and conducting phone interviews.
  • Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
  • Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
  • Documents patient visits and procedures.
  • Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
  • Assists with interviewing study subjects.
  • Assists with study regulator submissions.


Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Science required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?

Licenses and Credentials

EMT certification is preferred

Spanish proficiency is preferred

Experience
Some relevant research project work 0-1 year preferred
