Job Summary
Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; maintaining and updating data generated by the study.Qualifications
Essential Functions
The Clinical Research Coordinator will work within the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Newborn Medicine to assist the principal investigator in conducting NIH-funded clinical nutrition and body composition research based within Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Center for Child Development and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Clinical Research Coordinator will work independently under the day-to-day supervision of the Project Manager and in close collaboration with an experienced clinical research team to contribute to daily study operations. The role’s primary focuses include assisting with and/or conducting follow-up study visits in our Center for Child Development as well as assisting with measurements and collecting data within the NICU setting.
Within this role, there are opportunities for education and career development, including attendance of seminars, work-in-progress meetings, and clinical case discussions. Opportunities to participate in oral or poster presentations and/or to contribute to manuscript preparation may be available after six months of employment. A two-year commitment is strongly preferred.
