Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Neurology Chair Office, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II. As a Clinical Research Coordinator II in the Department of Neurology's Epilepsy Division, you will work closely with the direct supervisor and Principal Investigators, assist with research study coordination and implementation, screening of potential patients for protocol eligibility, and participate in the informed consent process.

General Responsibilities

  • To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.

  • To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.

  • To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

  • To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing Case Report Forms (CRFs), entering clinical research data, planning and coordinating strategies of increasing patient enrollment, improving efficiency, as well as training of personnel.

  • Ensures compliance with all federal and local agencies, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local Institutional Review Board (IRB).

  • Performs IRB review and submissions.

  • Schedules and participates in monitoring and auditing activities, and is required to communicate project status and improvement areas, as well as provide fiscal management for all studies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range: $50,050 - $81,330


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Strong written and verbal skills required.
