Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has served North County’s coastal communities since 1978. We’re located at Santa Fe Drive and I-5, within walking distance of a park, fitness center, grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants.

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas’ campus includes Scripps Clinic Encinitas and an outpatient imaging center. We’re home to notable specialty programs including a 24-hour emergency room, accredited stroke care, physical rehabilitation services (including a brain injury day treatment program), our Baby Friendly birthing pavilion and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit.

This is a full-time position with varied days at Scripps Memorial in Encinitas. Hours will be 8a-4:30p, 3 weekend days/month. Set schedule with various days M-Su.

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Social Worker to join our Case Management team at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. Our vibrant team is dedicated to serving the community with the highest quality of patient care.

Social Workers provide an important role within the hospital by assisting patient and families with personal and environmental problems which predispose illness or which interfere with their obtaining maximum benefits from medical care. In this role you will:

• Provide peer supervision for other staff, education for social work interns and/or assist with program planning and organization of services.
• Demonstrate ability to perform competencies as outlined in unit specific competency assessment tools. Demonstrates age specific care as established for a Clinical Social Worker in assigned area.

Required Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited University/College OR Masters in Family Therapy (MFT)
• MFT applicants must have prior hospital experience
• BLS for Healthcare Provider American Heart Association
• Working knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies and appeal procedures as relative to the Federal, State and other reimbursement programs
• Must be able to display good working relationships with patients, families, medical and nursing personnel, and all others employed at the hospital

Preferred Qualifications:

• Acute Care Hospital experience
• LCSW (Licensed by the State of CA Behavioral Science Examiners Board)
• Familiar with different levels of care (e.g., Home Health, SNF)
• Knowledgeable about LPS/AB2275 processes
