Position Summary:
The Clinical Specialist (LCSW) serves as the lead clinician for the Mental Health Diversion (MHD) Program for Cape May and Atlantic Counties. This position provides comprehensive evaluations, treatment recommendations, case coordination, and clinical oversight for individuals diverted from incarceration due to diagnosed serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) and/or co-occurring disorders. The clinician conducts psychosocial and diagnostic assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, and coordinates services between the courts, prosecutors, defense counsel, probation, and community providers. The role ensures continuity of care, supports successful community reentry, and monitors participant compliance with treatment and court requirements in alignment with the scope of services.
