Position Summary
The Department of Teacher Education invites part-time faculty candidates for Clinical Teacher Supervisor within the Dreeben School of Education for Spring 2026. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of part-time faculty members at the university include teaching and professional activities as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Work with assigned clinical teachers to apply classroom learning into a professional setting.
  • Formally observe, assess, and evaluate assigned clinical teachers.
  • Effectively communicate expectations during clinical placement for both the Clinical Teacher and the Cooperating Teacher.
  • Complete and timely submit required assessments and documentation by the due date.
  • Serve as a liaison between the placement site and the Teacher Education Department.
  • Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and procedures, including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course.
  • Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.
  • Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication skills;
  • Strong knowledge of educational concepts;
  • Mastery of professional ethics and presentation in professional settings;
  • Understanding and ability to effectively apply classroom managerial concepts;
  • Flexibility to supervise clinical teachers during the school day;
  • Ability to travel to respective schools of assigned clinical teachers primarily within Bexar County.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA .

Required Education
Master’s Degree in Education or closely related field.

Required Work Experience
Experience as a principal or assistant principal in a school system.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Priority will be given to candidates who hold Texas Principal Certification.
  • Strong coaching skills.


Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Teacher Certification.

Work Hours
Based on assignment.

Physical Demands
Ability to travel to respective schools of assigned clinical teachers primarily within Bexar County.
