Clinician I, Bilingual

Hours: 40 hours per week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm or 9:00 am - 5:30 pm and Thursday, 10:30 am - 7:00 pm.

Pay Rate: $37.02 to $37.39 per hour. There is a $5,000 bilingual differential add-on to annual salary for this position.

Education: Master’s degree in a mental health-related field, such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling required

Licensure: Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or Waivered Psychologist with the California Board of Psychology required

Bilingual: English/Arabic or Chaldean (must be fluent and able to speak, read, and write)

As a Clinician I, you will:

  • Conduct initial behavioral health assessment of new clients and/or returning clients; perform collateral interviews as indicated.
  • Provide individual and group psychosocial behavioral health services and activities for clients, including COD clients.
  • Assist the client in developing client service plan goals, prioritizing areas of need, and steps needed to reach goals established, as well as identify areas of strength.
  • Continually monitor progress towards goals and supports client’s efforts toward self-sufficiency.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • 2+ years of direct work experience in behavioral health or community-based social services programs
  • Bilingual Arabic or Chaldean is required for this position
  • Training and experience working with clients with co-occurring disorders; Motivational Interviewing training preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment is essential for this position
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office
  • Able to pass criminal/background clearance

Our Adult Outpatient Programs (Areta Crowell Wellness Recovery Center, Douglas Young Wellness Recovery Center, Heartland Wellness Recovery Center, Jane Westin Center, Maria Sardinas Wellness Recovery Center, and South Bay Guidance Center) provide behavioral health services including psychiatric and clinical assessment, treatment planning, ongoing medication services, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, mobile outreach, vocational support, and peer support. We deliver fully integrated services to adult clients diagnosed with a serious mental illness, as well as individuals with co-occurring, mental health, and substance use disorders.

All of our outpatient programs also provide full-time walk-in services. Our programs utilize evidence-based practices to assist our clients in reaching their goals and to live the highest quality of life while managing their mental illness.
