Job Description Summary:

Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Clinician, Non-Licensed, or “Clinician”, is
responsible for outpatient mental and behavioral health services provided to a caseload of clients.
Responsible for offering best-practice, trauma-informed, designated mental health services to
child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups including but not limited to individual, couple,
family, and group therapy.

1. Performs functions with clients and staff in gender-, spiritually-, economically- and

culturally-responsive, trauma-informed, humble, kind, and competent ways

2. Follows HIPAA guidelines and maintains the highest level of confidentiality and privacy at

all times when dealing with client information, paying special attention to any additional

risks present when using telehealth software and programming

3. Provides therapeutic services to assigned caseload in ways that seek to promote

individual, program and system-level approaches that foster health and resilience,

increase necessary supports while reducing gaps in service and barriers to social

inclusion

4. Provides brief individual, family, group and marital counseling with children, adolescents,

adults, families, and couples with the provision of collateral counseling as needed

5. Facilitates equitable services for recipients in person and via telehealth and telephonic

options as needed, safe, appropriate, and beneficial

6. Completes intakes and makes referrals any additional services needed including but not

limited to Agency-based individual therapy, medication evaluation and management,

group therapy, and case management

7. Provides coordination and follow-up monitoring of services rendered to the client and

family as needed

8. Maintains or exceeds productivity standards

9. Develops and/or maintains a Treatment Plan related to clients’ presenting problems and

utilizing objectives and interventions that supports client strengths, goals, and choice

10. Completes and/or ensures the completion of all appropriate documentation in a timely

manner with correct and appropriate tone, grammar, and syntax. This includes but is not

limited to Progress Notes, Informed Consents & Permission to Treat, Orientation

Acknowledgement, Medical History, Assessments, etc.

11. Collaborates effectively with clients, outside agency personnel, family members, and

internal agency personnel including but not limited to supervisors, therapists, physicians,

nurses, and case managers to ensure continuity of care

12. Provides crisis assistance in situations when immediate attention is warranted

13. Provides community education, awareness, and support regarding of mental health and

other relevant issues as able

14. Provides reporting of work activity to Clinical Manager as requested

15. Participates in staffing and supervision with a Licensed Clinician or Licensed Clinical

Social Worker as scheduled based on experience per policy as part of an overall

structured supervision system for non-licensed clinicians, and displays evidence of the

value of lifelong learning as related to best practices in client care

16. Participates in Quality Assurance & Improvement, Utilization Management, and other

agency and system functions

17. Other activities or responsibilities as needed per supervisor or agency
