At Brilliant Minds Montessori, we believe early childhood education is the foundation of a lifelong love of learning. Our school is more than a classroom—it’s a joyful, peaceful, and engaging environment where children are seen, heard, and respected. We serve infants through VPK with a mission to nurture independent, curious, and confident learners through the Montessori method and a whole-child approach.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a reliable, warm, and highly organized Closing Manager to oversee the smooth and peaceful end-of-day operations at our school. This role is essential in ensuring that families end their day with a positive experience and that classrooms are fully prepared for the next morning.

This is not a high-stress “managerial” role—it is a structured, checklist-driven position that supports children, staff, families, and the overall environment in the final hours of the day. You’ll serve as the calm, steady presence that brings the day to a close with consistency, professionalism, and efficiency.

Pay & Schedule

Pay: $18 – $20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

  • $18/hr — No credential
  • $19/hr — CDA/Staff Credential
  • $20/hr — VPK certification

Full-Time: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
Optional Part-Time Hours: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Monday–Friday)

What You’ll Do

Classroom & Student Support (Afternoon–Close)

  • Supervise and engage with children during afternoon activities with warmth and attentiveness
  • Ensure ratios are safely maintained during end-of-day transitions
  • Oversee the daily room-combining process and maintain a peaceful, organized environment
  • Support toileting, diapering, snack time, and cleanup as needed
  • Communicate kindly and professionally with parents at pickup

End-of-Day Procedures

  • Follow a step-by-step closing checklist to ensure classrooms are clean, organized, and fully reset for the next day
  • Oversee sanitizing, prepping materials, tidying shelves, and restoring Montessori order
  • Complete final safety checks and secure the building before leaving
  • Record any end-of-day notes or important information for morning staff
  • Ensure all policies related to pickup, cleanliness, and safety are followed consistently

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with lead teachers to understand daily needs and support smooth handoffs
  • Assist classroom teachers between 10 AM and 3 PM with activities, supervision, and preparation (full-time option)
  • Communicate respectfully with all staff and maintain a positive team environment

You Might Be a Great Fit If You…

  • Are dependable, calm under pressure, and great at following routines
  • Enjoy organizing spaces and creating peaceful, clean environments
  • Love ending the day on a positive note with children and families
  • Prefer a structured role with clear expectations and checklists
  • Communicate with kindness, confidence, and professionalism
  • Value consistency, responsibility, and teamwork

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a preschool or childcare setting
  • Strong reliability—punctuality and consistency are essential
  • DCF 45 hours completed or willingness to complete within 90 days
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Montessori experience is a plus, but not required (we provide training)
  • Must pass a Level II background screening

Why Join Brilliant Minds Montessori?

  • Calm, supportive, and family-like school culture
  • Clear expectations with structured checklists and routines
  • Low ratios during closing hours (typically under 10 children)
  • Training provided to support success in the closing role
  • Beautiful, peaceful Montessori environment
  • Paid Time Off after 90 day probationary period
  • Opportunities for advancement as the school grows
  • A meaningful role where you help end each child’s day with care and positivity
