Department: Enabling Technology
Location: Egypt, Cairo.
The Cloud Automation Engineer plays a critical role in implementing and maintaining automated cloud solutions to ensure scalable, reliable, and secure delivery of IT services. Focusing on DevSecOps practices for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), this role enables rapid and consistent deployment of infrastructure and applications across multi-cloud environments. Working closely with Cloud Platform, SRE, and Development teams, the Cloud Automation Engineer ensures that automation standards are embedded into operational workflows, reducing manual intervention and accelerating delivery cycles while maintaining compliance and cost efficiency.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop, maintain, and optimize automated infrastructure provisioning using tools such as Terraform, and Ansible to ensure consistency, scalability, and repeatability.
- Design and Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Build and optimize CI/CD workflows using platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, to enable rapid, reliable, and secure deployment of applications and infrastructure changes.
- Automate Cloud Operations: Create automation scripts and workflows (using Bash/PowerShell/Python) for routine operational tasks, monitoring, backups, and remediation activities to reduce manual workload and improve service reliability.
- Collaborate on DevSecOps Practices: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to embed DevSecOps principles, enabling continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous improvement across cloud platforms.
- Enhance Monitoring & Observability: Integrate monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Dynatrace) into automated workflows for proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Optimize Cloud Costs via Automation: Implement policies and automated actions to manage resource utilization, scale workloads efficiently, and control costs without compromising performance.
- Ensure Security & Compliance: Embed security controls and compliance checks into IaC and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring all deployments meet governance and regulatory standards.
- Support Incident Response Automation: Develop automated incident response workflows to improve recovery time objectives (RTOs) and reduce human error during critical events.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain clear documentation for automation frameworks, deployment processes, and operational runbooks to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainability
