The Cloud Platform Engineering internship in Global IT is a paid year-round internship. This role is part of the Cloud Platform Engineering team which operates at the intersection of infrastructure, automation, and developer enablement. Interns will be immersed in a fast-paced environment that supports Agile fusion teams—cross-functional groups that combine business and technical expertise to accelerate digital product delivery.
Interns are expected to work part time, 15-20 hours a week, during the school year, and full time, 40 hours a week, during summer and winter breaks. This position can be fully remote or hybrid (combination of in-office and remote).
What you'll do:
Participate in Agile methodology with the Cloud Platform Engineering (CPE) team.
Assist in building and improving infrastructure and code deployment automation capabilities across AWS, Google Cloud and private cloud platforms, using technologies such as GitHub, FlexDeploy and Terraform.
Support initiatives involving serverless cloud platforms supporting system integration , data foundation , and developer portal capabilities .
Help monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in cloud environments.
Contribute to documentation and internal developer portals.
Shadow senior engineers and participate in code reviews and design discussions.
Collaborate with Global IT and Business Partners; providing hand -on experience given ownership of project deliverables, while assisting in everyday tasks.
Work on additional projects and other miscellaneous assignments as assigned.
What you'll need to succeed:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with at least 3 semesters remaining in school. If enrolled in an Associate's degree program , you must have a plan to pursue a bachelor's degree immediately after A ssociate ’ s degree is completed.
Interest in DevOps, infrastructure stack automation, and artificial intelligence (AI)
Ability to work independently on designated tasks as needed.
Curiosity and initiative – eager to learn and explore new technologies
Ability to analyze information and display strong attention to detail.
Team Collaboration: Comfortable working in Agile teams and communicating effectively (both verbal and written) .
Problem-Solving Mindset: Willing to dig into issues and propose solutions.
Adaptability: Able to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities.
Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude.
The work hours are flexible based on your class schedule, working approximately 15-20 hours during the school year and 40 hours during summer/winter breaks. This position can start during spring semester.
Must have reliable internet connection (minimum 10 mb download speed)
For positions that require any amount of travel: Valid driver's license, auto insurance (at least state minimum- more might be required), acceptable driving record per Schreiber Foods discretion, and vehicle that will ensure applicant can meet the travel necessities of the position are required.
