Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloudera Platform Administration

• Administer and support Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) services across Data Lakehouse environments
• Manage platform configuration, cluster health, service dependencies, and capacity planning
• Perform installation, patching, upgrades, scaling, and environment maintenance
• Support platform readiness across Bronze, Silver, and Archive layers

2. Storage Administration

Technologies: HDFS, Apache Ozone

• Monitor and manage distributed storage health, replication, and data availability
• Troubleshoot storage failures, disk issues, and performance bottlenecks
• Manage quotas, archival policies, retention, backup, and recovery processes

3. Processing & Analytics Platform Support

Technologies: Spark, Hive, Impala, Iceberg, HBase, Kudu, Phoenix, Solr

• Support distributed data processing and analytical workloads
• Troubleshoot job failures, query issues, metadata inconsistencies, and resource contention
• Optimize platform performance for batch, interactive, and low-latency workloads

4. Streaming & Data Ingestion Support

Technologies: Kafka, NiFi

• Monitor and support real-time and batch ingestion pipelines
• Troubleshoot latency, backpressure, topic, and consumer issues
• Ensure reliable and secure data ingestion across the platform

6. Security, Governance & Compliance

• Support Kerberos, Ranger, and Atlas for security and governance
• Ensure controlled access, lineage, metadata visibility, and compliance adherence
• Assist in audit readiness and policy enforcement across the platform

7. Incident, Problem & Change Management

• Provide L1/L2 production support using ITIL-aligned processes
• Perform incident resolution, root cause analysis (RCA), and preventive action tracking
• Support release, deployment, patching, and planned maintenance activities
• Participate in shift-based and on-call support

8. Monitoring, Documentation & Automation

• Monitor platform services using Cloudera Manager and operational dashboards
• Maintain runbooks, SOPs, support procedures, and architecture documentation
• Automate routine administrative and monitoring tasks to improve efficiency

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–8 years of experience in Cloudera/Hadoop platform administration and production support
• Strong hands-on experience with CDP, HDFS, Ozone, Spark, Hive, and Impala
• Good knowledge of Kafka, NiFi, HBase, Kudu, Solr, and Iceberg
• Experience in cluster monitoring, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of security, governance, and platform operations
• Experience in 24/7 SLA-driven production support environments
