Club Events & Communications Manager

Westwood Country Club is seeking a Club Event & Communications Manager to lead the development and coordination of the club’s communications, marketing materials, and member event promotions. This role is responsible for producing engaging communications for members while supporting club events and ensuring consistent messaging across print, digital, and social media platforms.

Position Overview

The Club Event & Communications Manager coordinates the creation of the club’s newsletters, promotional materials, website and social media content, and internal communications. This role works closely with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and department leaders to promote club activities, support member engagement, and maintain clear and professional communication with members.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate the development and production of the club’s newsletter, magazine articles, and written communications.

Write, edit, and proofread content for newsletters, email communications, promotional materials, and member announcements.

Manage and update the club website, mobile app content, and event calendar.

Develop promotional materials including flyers, signage, tournament materials, and marketing pieces.

Assist with the creation and distribution of email communications and event promotions to members.

Coordinate with the Assistant General Manager and Director of Events on banquet event orders (BEOs) for club events.

Attend club events as needed to support communication and promotional efforts.

Manage social media platforms to promote club events and member activities.

Coordinate direct mailings including design, printing, and distribution.

Assist with the development of member surveys and compile feedback.

Work with department heads to identify communication and marketing needs.

Assist with recognition of member life events including cards, flowers, and acknowledgements.

Provide administrative support to the Membership Services office when needed.

Complete special projects and assignments as directed by the General Manager or Assistant General Manager.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Liberal Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.

Minimum two years of customer service or communications experience required.

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Experience with content creation, newsletters, and marketing communications.

Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style and Associated Press Style guidelines preferred.

Experience with graphic design and publishing software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and database programs.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when setting up displays or event materials.

Ability to bend, reach, and stand as needed.

Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments when supporting club events.
