Cluster Category Manager


You will be responsible for managing procurement activities for the GSC category within your assigned cluster, in addition to supporting the local organization with other strategic procurement activities. You will work in close collaboration with the global category lead for your appointed category, as well as with local management on all other strategic sourcing and contracting initiatives, including the effective management of local supplier relationships.


In this role, you will contribute to the development of the assigned category and implement the appropriate procurement strategy in close collaboration with business partners within your cluster.


You will also ensure the supply of goods and services required by the organization, meeting specified quality, service, and cost criteria through the implementation of harmonized and consistent sourcing strategies. Critical success factors include the effective implementation of global category strategies within the cluster, and a strong business partnership mindset is essential.

Position:


The Cluster Category Manager will be responsible for:


  • Category Management Strategy: You will manage procurement activities for the assigned business category within your cluster, implementing strategies set by the Global Category Lead and ensuring strong collaboration with all stakeholders. You will work closely with the Global Category Lead and Procurement Cluster Lead to adapt global strategies to local needs and manage the supplier list efficiently.
  • Supplier Management: You will identify and manage regional and local suppliers, negotiate strategic contracts, and ensure sustainable and optimal supply conditions. You will recommend strategic decisions to prevent inefficiencies, maintain strong supplier relationships, and drive value-adding initiatives. You will support global and regional teams, contribute to innovation and sustainability initiatives, and promote ideas that create competitive advantage for JTI.
  • KPIs & Targets: You will achieve procurement negotiation targets and savings KPIs, develop sourcing plans, and lead or support supplier bidding processes to secure the best quality, cost, and service outcomes. You will drive strategy implementation at the cluster level, monitor performance, and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Business Partnership: You will demonstrate strong business partnership by aligning strategies with business priorities, fostering effective communication, and ensuring customer-oriented collaboration. You will proactively prevent supply issues, resolve challenges promptly, and take on additional tasks or projects as assigned.
  • Market Intelligence: You will share category insights, identify trends, and apply best procurement practices. You will assess supply risks, build contingency plans, conduct market research, source innovative suppliers, and take proactive measures to secure the best conditions for the company.

Requirements:


  • University degree in Finance, Business, or Engineering, and a master’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar environment in a multinational company
  • Advanced level of English is a must; additional language will be a plus
  • Advanced level of MS Office applications and SAP knowledge
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Financial analysis
  • Solid understanding of the business environment
  • Effective management of internal and external stakeholders
