The Role
The Cluster Director – Health, Safety & Risk is a senior leadership role within Red Sea Global Hospitality, responsible for protecting the wellbeing of guests, employees, and assets across a portfolio of luxury, sustainability-driven properties located in remote and high-profile destinations.
Reporting to the Corporate Hospitality Director of Operations, this role leads the development and implementation of the portfolio's Health, Safety & Risk strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and Red Sea Global Hospitality standards. The role oversees health and safety programs, risk management, crisis preparedness, emergency response planning, and operational compliance across all properties.
The Cluster Director acts as a strategic partner to corporate, government, and operational stakeholders, promoting a proactive culture of safety, risk awareness, and prevention while safeguarding people, assets, business continuity, and the reputation of Red Sea Global Hospitality.

Strategic Leadership & Governance

Develop and implement a portfolio-wide Health, Safety & Risk strategy aligned with RSGH's operational, sustainability, and guest experience objectives.

Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, regulations, industry standards, and RSGH policies across the portfolio.

Partner with General Managers, operators, corporate teams, and government authorities to drive consistent Health, Safety & Risk practices.

Promote a culture of accountability, risk awareness, and continuous improvement across all properties.

Establish governance frameworks, reporting standards, and performance metrics to monitor compliance and operational effectiveness.
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
-
Oversee all Health, Safety & Wellbeing programs across the portfolio, ensuring alignment with international best practices and local regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance.

Support property leadership teams in creating safe working environments for employees, contractors, and guests.

Drive initiatives that promote employee wellbeing, safety awareness, and operational excellence.

Ensure appropriate incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action processes are implemented and consistently followed.
Risk Management & Emergency Preparedness

Lead the development and maintenance of risk management, emergency response, and business continuity plans across the portfolio.

Ensure all properties maintain appropriate levels of preparedness through training exercises, drills, and crisis simulations.

Provide guidance and support to operational teams during incidents, emergencies, and business disruption events.

Monitor emerging operational, environmental, reputational, and regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies where required.

Act as the primary point of coordination with relevant government agencies and emergency services when necessary.
Security Oversight & Operational Support

Provide governance and oversight of security standards across the portfolio while working closely with third-party security providers and property leadership teams.

Ensure security procedures, access control measures, and emergency protocols are implemented in accordance with RSGH standards.

Support properties in identifying vulnerabilities and implementing appropriate preventative measures to protect guests, employees, assets, and reputation.

Review security-related incidents and trends, ensuring lessons learned and preventative actions are implemented across the portfolio.
Operational Excellence & Brand Protection

Ensure Health, Safety & Risk practices are integrated seamlessly into the luxury guest experience.

Collaborate with Facilities, Sustainability, Environmental, and Operational teams to support safe and efficient operations across hotels, residences, marine assets, and supporting infrastructure.

Maintain the highest levels of discretion, professionalism, and stakeholder confidence when managing sensitive matters.

Act as a champion of RSGH's values, ensuring all Health, Safety & Risk initiatives support the organization's commitment to responsible development, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Key Qualifications
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in Health, Safety, Risk Management, Loss Prevention, Security Governance, or related operational disciplines.

Experience leading Health, Safety & Risk programs across multiple properties, large-scale hospitality operations, mixed-use developments, or destination environments.

Strong knowledge of international Health & Safety standards and best practices, including ISO 45001, OSHA, NFPA, and risk management frameworks.

Demonstrated experience in crisis management, emergency response planning, business continuity, and incident management.

Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and work effectively across multiple operators, brands, and business functions.
-
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience within luxury hospitality, resorts, residential communities, tourism destinations, or large mixed-use developments.

Experience working in remote, complex, or high-profile environments.

Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, CMIOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent.

Experience managing third-party service providers, contractors, and security partners.

Experience supporting multi-property portfolios and working within owner, operator, or asset management environments.
