SUMMARY

Performs scheduled/unscheduled maintenance and installation tasks on the physical plant, equipment and machinery, according to standards. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect impact on product safety, legality and/or quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES

• Meets plant objectives in safety, quality, cost and customer care.
• Provides technical support for efficient troubleshooting / problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
• Maintains and repairs all equipment in operation which includes pumps, motors, conveyors, and much more.
• Troubleshoots PLC’s.
• Respond quickly to service calls.
• Maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical issues.
• Reads technical manuals to understand equipment and controls.
• Performs tests and runs initial batches to make sure that the machine is running smoothly.
• Cleans and lubricates equipment or machinery.
• Tests malfunctioning machinery to determine whether major repairs are needed.
• Preventative, predictive and scheduled maintenance.
• Floor visibility during machine run times
• Adherence to GMP’s and safety.
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.

• High School diploma required, College or Technical Education from accredited institutions preferred, Journeyman’s training is beneficial.
• 3+ years’ experience in industrial machine maintenance.
• Large food equipment repair experience.
• Basic forklift (stand & sit) and pallet jack maintenance.
• Hands on experience with Vemag, Formax, Repak and MultiVak food processing equipment.
• Basic PLC/Motor Controls/VFD knowledge, Allen Bradley, Siemens & GE Fanuc.
• Basic welding skills.
• Strong knowledge of conveyor metal detection systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and basic logic issues.
• Ability to troubleshoot labeling and taping equipment.
• Experience with tooling and basic machine shop equipment.
• Knowledge of maintenance work order systems.
• Understanding of ammonia refrigeration and compressed air systems.
• Daily inspection of critical equipment and devices.
• Strong mechanical, analytical and solution driven skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
• Experience with automation, conveyors.
