Overview:
CMM & Laser Metrology Engineer – Automotive (Overseas Assignment)
The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in CMM programming and operation, with preferred experience in Laser Tracker systems (Hexagon) and Faro Arm for precision measurement and inspection of complex automotive components & Toolings.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Laser Tracker systems (Hexagon) and Faro Arm for large part inspection, alignment, and reverse engineering.

Program and operate CMM machines (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or equivalent) for dimensional inspection.

Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to develop accurate inspection routines.

Analyze measurement data and generate detailed inspection reports.

Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to resolve dimensional issues.

Support PPAP, APQP, and customer-specific quality documentation.

Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Train junior staff on metrology tools and best practices.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelors or in Mechanical / Production / Automobile Engineering.
Essential skills:
- 4–6 years of experience in dimensional inspection in the automotive industry.

Proficiency in CMM programming and operation.

Strong understanding of GD&T, ISO/TS 16949 or IATF 16949 standards.

Experience with Laser Tracker (Hexagon) and Faro Arm is highly preferred.

Familiarity with quality tools: SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans.
Desired skills:
- Knowledge of 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).

Experience with reverse engineering and 3D scanning.

Exposure to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Kaizen methodologies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities(good knowledge of English, spoken and written.)
Experience:
- 4–6 years of experience in dimensional inspection in the automotive industry.
