We are looking for the right individual to assist in our oncology clinic and infusion suites.
JOB SUMMARY: Medical Assistant/CNA supports both our oncology clinic and infusion suites. This dual-role position involves direct patient care, clinical support, and ensuring a comfortable, efficient environment for patients undergoing cancer treatment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, team-focused, and committed to providing exceptional patient-centered care.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical assistant certification or prior experience
- CNA certification (preferred, not required)
- Experience in oncology, infusion services, or outpatient clinical settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Infusion Suite Support
- Taking patient vitals
- Prepare infusion chairs and treatment areas between patients, ensuring cleanliness and readiness
- Assist patients with comfort measures, including providing warm blankets, pillows, and refreshments
- Offer food and beverage service as appropriate
- Monitor patient comfort and report concerns to nursing staff promptly
- Assist with patient positioning and mobility as needed
- Provides the highest level of customer service to patients and visitors
- Make triage calls to patients
- Fulfill charting responsibilities and relay appropriate information to patient
- Promotes and respects patient rights, educates patients on pertinent information related to their care
- Manage and update charts to ensure all information is complete and filed appropriately
- Order, sort, and store supplies as directed
Clinical (Medical Assistant) Support
- Room patients and prepare them for provider visits
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history updates, and chief complaints
- Assist providers with exams and procedures as needed
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and families
- Provide empathetic support to oncology patients throughout their care journey
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, providers, and administrative staff
- Follow all clinic policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols
Position is 32-36 hours per week.
