CNC laser operator

Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Cut Operator to set up, operate, and maintain CNC laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal components. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of blueprint reading and CNC programming basics.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut metal sheets and components according to specifications.

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job orders to determine machine settings and requirements.

Load and unload materials onto the machine bed and secure them properly.

Monitor machine operation and cutting quality, making adjustments as necessary.

Perform routine maintenance on laser cutting equipment and tools.

Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.

Identify and report any machine malfunctions or quality issues to supervisors.

Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety protocols and company standards.

Maintain accurate production records and logs.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.

Minimum of 1–2 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting machines (e.g., Sengfeng, Bodor, XT Laser).

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.

Basic knowledge of CNC programming and G/M codes is preferred.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).

Experience with different materials: steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.
