Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe/Mill Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and CNC programming. The successful applicant will contribute to high-quality production in a factory environment, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and modify CNC programs for lathe and mill machines using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other programming tools.
- Set up CNC equipment, including tooling, fixtures, and workpieces, ensuring proper alignment and calibration.
- Operate CNC lathe and milling machines with precision to produce components according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
- Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other gauges to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot machine issues, perform basic maintenance, and make adjustments to optimize machining processes.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and blueprints for accurate fabrication.
- Handle materials safely within the manufacturing facility, including materials handling and packaging of finished parts.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks, fabrication projects, or welding as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety protocols.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming for lathe and mill machines; experience with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks; experience with CAM programming is essential.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), stamping presses, flexo presses, press brake machines, and welding processes.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings with GD&T specifications.
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling, fabrication, machining operations, and materials handling.
- Experience operating precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools.
- Factory or manufacturing facility experience preferred; warehouse experience is a plus.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during programming and setup.
- Knowledge of hand tools, assembly line procedures, welding techniques, and fabrication processes is advantageous. Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
