Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Fabrication Technician to join our vehicle armoring and specialty fabrication team. This position involves operating CNC machines to cut and fabricate steel and fiberglass components for armored vehicles using AutoCAD-based files and technical drawings.
In addition to machining, this role requires strong mechanical ability and hands-on troubleshooting skills to assist with vehicle repairs and maintenance of shop equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with vehicles, fabrication equipment, and electronics systems.
This is a hands-on role in a shop environment where precision, reliability, and problem-solving are essential.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up CNC machines to cut steel and fiberglass components for armored vehicle fabrication
- Create, read and interpret AutoCAD files, blueprints, and technical drawings to produce accurate parts
- Program or modify CNC programs as needed to ensure proper cuts and tolerances
- Assist with vehicle disassembly, modification, and reassembly during armoring projects
- Fabricate and fit custom parts for vehicles using CNC equipment and hand tools
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on shop equipment and machinery
- Assist with repair and maintenance of mechanical and electronic systems, including shop equipment such as jukeboxes, pool tables, air hockey machines, and other mechanical devices
- Ensure proper quality control and measurement of fabricated parts
- Maintain clean and safe workspaces and follow shop safety procedures
- Work with the fabrication team to solve mechanical challenges during builds
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience operating CNC milling machines, routers, or similar fabrication equipment
- Strong ability to read and work from AutoCAD drawings or CAD-based files
- Experience cutting or machining steel, aluminum, composites, or fiberglass
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem solving ability
- Experience working on vehicles, automotive systems, or mechanical equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical or electronic components
- Experience using hand tools, fabrication tools, grinders, welders, and power tools
- Ability to measure and verify parts using calipers, tape measures, and other precision tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Military veterans
- Automotive repair or mechanical technician experience
- Experience with vehicle fabrication, custom builds, or armor installations
- Familiarity with CNC programming (G-code)
- Welding or metal fabrication experience
- Experience repairing mechanical or arcade-style equipment (jukeboxes, pool tables, air hockey systems, etc.)
- Experience working with composite materials or fiberglass
Work Environment
- Hands-on fabrication shop environment
- Work involves steel fabrication, machining, vehicle modification, and equipment repair
- Must be comfortable lifting materials and working with fabrication equipment

Pay: $25.93 - $32.63 per hour
