CNC Machinist

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in delivering high-quality parts efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment and contribute to innovative projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using Fanuc controls or similar systems
  • Develop and modify CNC programs through CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to optimize machining processes
  • Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to ensure accurate production
  • Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify dimensions
  • Conduct routine inspections of machined parts for quality compliance and troubleshoot machining issues promptly
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, tooling, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or adjustments
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols and lean manufacturing principles

Skills

  • Proficiency in CNC programming and CAM programming for efficient machine operation
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T standards for precise manufacturing
  • Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes for complex part fabrication
  • Mechanical knowledge of CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks, CAD software, and other design tools for part development and modifications
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs
  • Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes is a plus for versatile manufacturing tasks
  • Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting during production processes
  • Experience working with tooling setups, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation when necessary
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction
