Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision components, primarily within Marine equipment metal fabrication sectors. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, ensuring precise machining of parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Interpret CAD drawings and programme machine operations accurately.
- Perform grinding, milling, turning and other machining tasks with a focus on maintaining tight tolerances.
- Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of CNC equipment to minimise downtime.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment to support machine setup and component assembly.
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks during production runs.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, including proper use of PPE and safe operation of all machinery.
- Maintain detailed records of production activities and machine performance.
Skills
- Proven experience in CNC machining with a focus on Turning, milling, or similar processes.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and design interpretation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles related machining of plastics and metals.
- Knowledge of tooling selection and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and convert them into machine instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements, tolerances, and calculations essential for precision manufacturing.
