A growing manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Setup Operator to support production machining and equipment operations. This role is ideal for candidates with strong CNC programming, setup, and machining experience who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and operate CNC milling machines
- Perform machine setup, tooling changes, and production runs
- Manufacture precision parts according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Support production scheduling and workflow efficiency
- Troubleshoot machining and process issues
- Recommend process improvements to reduce waste and improve productivity
- Operate manual mills, lathes, and related shop equipment
- Assist with maintenance and repair of machinery as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience
- Experience with CNC setup, programming, and machine operation
- Familiarity with HAAS, OKK, or Okuma machines preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Understanding of machining safety practices and quality standards
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High school diploma or GED required
- Vocational machining training or equivalent experience preferred
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles
- Experience with quality control processes and inspection methods
- Basic welding experience is a plus
