CNC Machinist

Job Summary
LMR Geartech are looking for an experienced CNC Turner/Miller to join our driven and expanding team to help continue our growth in a friendly family business.

The successful candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude, be driven to succeed, strive for good quality work, be willing to be part of an excellent team and also be able to work under their own initiative if and when required. Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and have experience and understanding of using/programming FANUC Control (HAAS). This role will include programming (at the machine) from drawings, setting and operating 2/3 axis lathes and 3/4 axis mills, ranging from 1 off bespoke parts through to high volume batch work.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC Lathes and Mills from engineering drawings.
• Maintaining tools and equipment to a good working standard.
• Maintaining high quality in machined components.
• Measuring own work and checking others when necessary (first off's).
• Manufacturing fixtures/tooling for components as and when required.
• Keeping work area clean and tidy.

Skills

• Proven experience in CNC machining, including programming and set-ups.
• Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings.
• Knowledge of FANUC or HAAS control preferable.
• Experience in machining different types of steels, stainless, plastic and exotic materials.
• Experience in using a range of metrology tools.
• Strong understanding of basic math's for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
• Good organisation skills with attention to detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to adapt and take on new challenges within machining environment.

Working hours

LMR Geartech operate a 40-hour work week 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, one paid morning break and an unpaid 30 minute lunch break.

Regular overtime is available through the week and Saturday mornings when required.

We also have a performance-based bonus scheme which is payable quarterly, dependant on targets being achieved company wide.

Pay: £16.00-£19.00 per hour
