CNC Machinist

Mercer GlassFab is regional glass fabricator and tempering operation in Trenton, New Jersey. We are seeking a CNC Machinist to join our production team and work with us to manage and maintain a rock-solid glass fabrication and tempering facility. The full-time position will require strong communication skills with the ability to mobilize and encourage team effort. Experience with glass fabrication and tempering production machines to include tempering furnace, polishing, cutting and CNC work centers is preferred. Will consider experience in related industries.

Skills, Duties and Responsibilities

· Hand-on experience with CNC Programming and Machine Operation

· Work with a team that is responsible for glass fabrication equipment, tempering furnace maintenance and repair.

· Minimize downtime by planning and implementing proper Preventative Maintenance programs.

· Maintain safe work environment through proper procedures and training.

· Hire, train and manage, facility staff.

· Strong organization and time management skills.

· Perform other tasks as directed by senior management.

Knowledge

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office 365

· Working knowledge of ERP Systems

· Knowledge of CNC programming (Preferred)

· Knowledge of Auto-Cad and/or Solidworks (Preferred)

· Knowledge of PLC’s (Preferred)

· Strong electrical background (Preferred)

Physical Demands

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

· Typical indoor manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate. Steel-toed electrical-hazard safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE based on task requirements. Occasional weekend work required.

Communication Skills

· Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

· Ability to read and understand common machine manuals, electrical diagrams and specification sheets.

· Ability to listen and communicate effectively with employees, vendors, suppliers and customers.
