CNC Machinist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will operate and set up our CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components according to technical specifications. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality production, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing manufacturing processes. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities: Operate CNC machinery such as CNC lathes, Mill machines, primarily using Fanuc controls or similar systems.

  • Setting up and adjust machine tools such as lathe, milling machines, and CNC equipment to produce R& D parts and Fixtures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining.
  • Software and manual G-code adjustments.
  • Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot machine issues promptly.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste.
  • Work with the engineering designers, and other team members to imporve process and product qualiity.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and optimize production process.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
  • Experience with Fanuc controls or other CNC control systems.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.

Pay: $32.55 - $35.00 per hour
