About the Role:
The CNC Machinist, also known as CNC Operator or CNC Programmer, is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components in a manufacturing environment. This role supports production efficiency by maintaining tight tolerances, ensuring quality standards, and troubleshooting machining processes during second shift operations.
Responsibilities:

Set up, program, and operate CNC machines including mills and lathes to meet production targets

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications

Make programming adjustments and tool offsets to maintain dimensional tolerances

Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices

Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime

Perform routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment

Monitor production output and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards
Qualifications:

Technical certificate in machining or equivalent hands-on CNC experience

Experience setting up and operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment

Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances

Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and lifting

Ability to meet production deadlines and work overtime as needed
Desired Qualifications:

Experience with CNC programming, including G-code editing and optimization

Familiarity with multi-axis machining or advanced CNC equipment

Experience in high-volume or precision manufacturing environments

Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
