CNC Machinist / Programmer

Position Summary

The Machinist II CNC Machinist / Programmer is responsible for setup, machining, and programming in a job‑shop environment. This role requires the ability to create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs, optimize machining processes, and support less‑experienced machinists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes
  • Create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs
  • Perform at‑machine programming and/or CAM programming
  • Optimize tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies
  • Machine precision parts from Copper, Steel, and Aluminum
  • Interpret complex prints and GD&T
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
  • Support and mentor Machinist I team members
  • Ensure efficiency, consistency, and part quality

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Proven CNC programming experience (at machine or CAM)
  • Strong understanding of G‑code fundamentals
  • Job shop experience with frequent changeovers
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances
  • Advanced measuring and inspection skills

Preferred

  • CAM experience (Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar)
  • Fixture setup and process development experience**Position Summary**
