Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist specializing in Toyoda Bridge Mill operations to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, specifically Toyoda Bridge Mills, to produce precision-engineered components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality production, adherence to technical specifications, and continuous improvement in machining processes. Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate Toyoda Bridge Mill CNC machines using CAD/CAM software to produce complex parts with precision.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications, and manufacturing instructions to ensure accurate machining.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts utilizing precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Perform troubleshooting and adjustments on CNC equipment including Fanuc controls to optimize performance and maintain quality standards.
- Maintain proper tooling and tooling changes for various machining operations; ensure tools are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while operating machinery such as CNC lathes and milling machines; utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools as needed.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on CNC programming enhancements using SolidWorks, CAD software, and CAM programming techniques.
- Assist in the setup of plastics injection molding components or assemblies when required; support welding or assembly tasks as part of integrated manufacturing processes.
- Operate forklifts safely for material handling within the production area; adhere to all safety standards related to manufacturing environments.
Skills
- Proven experience with CNC programming and operation of Toyoda Bridge Mills or similar CNC milling machines.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming tools.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls or other CNC control systems for troubleshooting and adjustments.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines for precise measurement verification.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and dimensions.
- Experience working with plastics injection molding processes is advantageous.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, tooling setups, forklifts, and other manufacturing machinery safely.
