Position Summary
The CNC Lathe & Mill Operator is responsible for operating CNC lathes and CNC milling machines using established setups, programs, and work instructions. This role does not require machine setup experience and is ideal for a detail-oriented operator who values precision, consistency, and quality in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC Multi axis lathes and Multi axis milling machines by following established prints, job travelers, and work instructions
- Monitor machines during operation
- Perform tool wear checks and notify setup personnel or supervisors when tooling attention is required
- Perform in-process inspections using calibrated measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and thread mics
- Verify finished parts meet print specifications and tolerance requirements
- Make minor work offset adjustments as allowed by documented procedures
- Identify and report machining, tooling, or quality issues
- Maintain consistent production output while meeting quality standards
- Accurately complete production and quality documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety and 5S standards
- Follow all ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system requirements
Required Experience & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1–3 years of CNC machine operating experience (lathe and/or mill)
- Experience operating CNC machines in a production environment
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and job travelers
- Familiarity with tight tolerances and precision parts
- Experience machining aluminum and stainless steel preferred
- Basic understanding of CNC machine controls (Haas, Fanuc, or similar)
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments
- U.S. citizenship or valid permanent resident/work authorization required
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred
- Experience with electrical connector manufacturing is a plus
