CNC Mill Machinist

Duties

  • Operate CNC milling machines, including CNC lathes and milling centers, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are maintained.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce precise parts.
  • Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and verify programs for accuracy before production runs.
  • Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces accurately using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues promptly, and make necessary adjustments for quality control.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or similar controls.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T standards for precise machining.
  • Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling setups, fixture design, and machining processes involving plastics injection molding or metal components.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges effectively.
  • Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances accurately.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety procedures including proper use of hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and welding equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of working independently or as part of a team committed to quality excellence. Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
