Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, tooling, and CAD/CAM software, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. Duties
- Set up and calibrate CNC milling machines according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Programme CNC machines using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other relevant tools.
- Operate CNC milling equipment safely and efficiently to produce components within specified tolerances.
- Perform grinding, welding, and assembly tasks as required to support manufacturing processes.
- Maintain and adjust tooling, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using hand tools and measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are met.
- Troubleshoot machine issues, perform basic maintenance, and make necessary adjustments during production runs.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of power tools and personal protective equipment.
- Document production activities accurately and report any discrepancies or machine malfunctions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in milling operations, particularly with CNC machinery.
- Proficiency in CAD design software such as SolidWorks and familiarity with CAM programming.
- Knowledge of grinding, welding, plastics injection moulding, and assembly processes is advantageous.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and tooling for machining tasks.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during machining processes.
- Experience working with plastics injection moulding is desirable but not essential.
