CNC Toolsmith

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must possess the knowledge and ability to read blueprints, including GD&T, to determine machining to be done.
  • Plan, layout, set-up and perform machining operations of a diverse nature to produce components for tools, test equipment, fixtures, jigs, dies, molds, mechanisms, prototype components, etc.
  • Ability to measure and verify work.
  • Performs difficult machining operations requiring complicated set-ups and occasionally improving the tooling and set-ups to perform unusual operations.
  • Responsible for quality workmanship and dimensional accuracy of assigned projects.
  • Program C.N.C machines utilizing CAMWORKS.
  • Operate various equipment used in the process of making tools.
  • Assembles parts into product and verifies dimensions and alignments.
  • Sets-up and operates surface grinder to grind surface of parts.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly workplace
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a bona fide apprenticeship plus four years experience or eight years of practical experience.
