Co-Lead Toddler Teacher

The Cathedral Preschool seeks an experienced, thoughtful Co-Lead Toddler Teacher who is passionate about experiential, hands-on learning and grounded in strong child development practice. Founded in 1970, we are a collaborative, inclusive school where teachers design learning experiences that grow from children’s curiosity and support the whole child.

This position is for the 26-27 School Year (beginning August 2026 or earlier for our summer camp)

Schedule

• Mon–Fri: 8:30 am–1:30 pm
• Academic-year position (early August–May)

About the Role

Teachers at The Cathedral Preschool are observers, collaborators, and designers of learning. You will:

• Plan and facilitate developmentally responsive, hands-on curriculum
• Observe and reflect on children to guide instruction and classroom design
• Support children’s social-emotional, cognitive, language, and motor development
• Create an inclusive classroom that honors diverse learners and varying abilities
• Collaborate with colleagues and specialists as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Communicate clearly and thoughtfully with families and colleagues, providing general class details, conveying student growth and learning information, writing narrative progress reports for each student, and sharing ideas with clarity and precision, both orally and in writing
• Model empathy, problem-solving, and respectful communication
• Ensure children’s safety and well-being across all learning environments

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Education, Child Development, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of early childhood teaching
• Experience with experiential, play-based, or project learning preferred
• Experience working with children with diverse learning profiles a plus
• Strong collaboration, communication, and reflective practice skills
