COASTAL ENGINEER

This role is intended for a Coastal Engineer with practical experience in coastal engineering studies, numerical modelling, and marine infrastructure projects. Support the delivery of coastal and marine engineering assignments through metocean data analysis, wave and hydrodynamic modelling, shoreline protection design, dredging and reclamation studies, submerged outfall systems, quay wall design, and preparation of technical reports and engineering documentation.

Possess hands-on experience in coastal processes, sediment transport, shoreline evolution, beach response modelling, flushing studies, and marine structures hydraulic design using industry-standard numerical modelling software including MIKE 21, MIKE-FM, Delft3D, and SBEACH.

Contribute to the execution of coastal and marine infrastructure projects in accordance with international engineering standards and project requirements while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

RESPONSABILITIES: Support senior engineers in conducting coastal engineering studies, numerical modelling tasks, and technical assessments for marine and coastal infrastructure projects. Perform metocean and environmental data collection, processing, and analysis using engineering tools and programming applications such as Python and MATLAB. Carry out hydrodynamic, wave propagation, shoreline evolution, sediment transport, flushing, and beach response modelling using MIKE 21, MIKE-FM, Delft3D, and SBEACH.

Assist in the design and review of coastal and marine structures including shoreline protection systems, submerged outfalls, dredging and reclamation works, quay walls, marinas, fishery ports, and marine infrastructure developments. Support numerical modelling studies, extreme value analysis, and coastal planning activities for coastal developments and marine facilities.

Assist in preparing technical reports, modelling reports, engineering calculations, drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, presentations, and tender documentation. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project quality and timely delivery while supporting design reviews, modelling validation, and project execution activities in accordance with engineering standards and company procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or related engineering discipline, with experience in coastal and marine engineering design, numerical modelling, and coastal infrastructure projects. Exposure to hydrodynamic modelling, wave propagation, shoreline evolution, sediment transport, dredging and reclamation, coastal protection systems, and marine structures is preferred.

Working knowledge of coastal numerical modelling software such as MIKE 21, MIKE-FM, Delft3D, and SBEACH is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, GIS tools (ArcGIS Pro and Global Mapper), and programming languages such as Python and MATLAB is preferred. Strong analytical, technical reporting, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time-management skills are expected. Fluency in English and Arabic is an advantage.
