Coating Inspector

Duties

• Inspect coated surfaces using precision measuring instruments and visual assessment techniques to verify adherence to quality standards.
• Ensure proper application of coatings through monitoring airless paint spraying, auto painting, and industrial painting processes.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to prepare surfaces prior to coating application.
• Conduct materials handling, including forklift operation and crane usage, to facilitate efficient movement of materials and finished products.
• Perform surface preparation tasks such as sanding, cleaning, and auto body repair to ensure optimal coating adhesion.
• Document inspection results accurately, including detailed reports on coating thickness, finish quality, and surface defects.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, machining, assembly, and fabrication teams to maintain seamless workflow and uphold safety standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in manufacturing environments with knowledge of machining, fabrication, or assembly processes.
• Familiarity with industrial painting techniques such as airless paint spraying and auto painting.
• Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with understanding of materials handling and surface preparation methods.
• Basic math skills for measuring coating thicknesses and performing calculations related to quality control.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments used in coating inspections.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction.
• Warehouse experience is a plus for managing inventory and materials flow efficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with good communication skills for clear documentation and teamwork.
