As the Coatings Manager, you’ll be the go-to expert for everything related to coatings application and quality. You will:
Lead Daily Operations

Manage and support a team of coatings specialists—ensuring they have clear direction, the right materials, and the tools they need to excel.

Oversee all steps of the coatings process: substrate prep, equipment setup, application, curing, testing, and final inspections.

Monitor workflow to maximize efficiency without compromising quality or safety.
Drive Quality & Compliance

Ensure adherence to MGS and customer-specific procedures, documentation, and quality practices.

Partner with Quality Team to address non-conformances and implement preventive actions.

Participate in internal and external quality audits (ISO, customer representatives, environmental agencies).
Support and Develop Your Team

Train new employees, coach team members, and provide performance evaluations.

Conduct interviews and support hiring decisions to build a strong, reliable team.

Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Manage Equipment & Materials

Oversee paint, powder, blasting, and coating equipment, ensuring smooth operation and proper maintenance.

Manage inventory: ordering materials, verifying shipments, and implementing cost-saving practices.

Maintain daily production reports, labor tracking, and meeting participation.

Requirements:
Job Requirements

A high school diploma or GED (required);

Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.

2–3 years of coatings, manufacturing, or related experience.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you connect well with people at every level.

Ability to interpret drawings, documentation, and technical data sheets.

Solid math skills and familiarity with measurements, metrics, and production data.

Proficiency with basic computer programs (ERP systems, Excel, Word, Outlook) and willingness to learn new technologies.

A commitment to safety, organization, and high-quality production standards.
Physical & Work Environment
This role is active and hands-on. You should be comfortable:
