Coffee Roaster – Specialty Coffee

We are seeking an experienced Specialty Coffee Roaster to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for roasting high-quality specialty coffee beans while maintaining consistency, quality, and flavor standards across different origins and harvests.

The ideal candidate must understand that each coffee origin, variety, processing method, and harvest requires a unique roasting approach. The role involves developing and adjusting roast profiles to highlight the best characteristics of each coffee while ensuring consistency between batches.

Key Responsibilities:

• Roast specialty coffee beans according to quality standards and target flavor profiles.
• Develop, evaluate, and optimize roast profiles for different coffee origins, varieties, and harvests.
• Adjust roasting parameters based on bean density, moisture content, processing method, and seasonal crop variations.
• Conduct cupping sessions and sensory evaluations to assess coffee quality and roasting performance.
• Maintain detailed roasting records and production logs.
• Monitor inventory of green coffee and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of roasting equipment.
• Work closely with quality control and production teams to maintain consistency and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety requirements.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in specialty coffee roasting.
• Strong understanding of coffee origins, processing methods, harvest variations, and roast development.
• Experience with cupping, sensory analysis, and quality control.
• Ability to create and modify roast profiles based on different coffee characteristics.
• Knowledge of roasting software and data analysis is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product consistency.
• Ability to work independently and manage production schedules.

Job Type: Full-time

Preferred Experience: Specialty Coffee Roasting, Roast Profile Development, Cupping & Sensory Evaluation, Green Coffee Handling and Quality Control.

Pay: ﷼1,500.00 - ﷼3,000.00 per month
